New jobs, break-ups, marriage, kids: There’s nothing static about life! The challenge is maintaining a sense of calm and well-being despite the hustle and bustle of daily life.  Over the years, I’ve come to believe the key to finding and maintaining that crucial, harmonious balance begins in the environment we create at home.  The stage on which and from which we live our lives.

I’m so excited to be launching my new blog and connecting with people who are passionate about design, life, and anything else that comes along.  My staff and I are in the process of revamping my website with a brand new blog layout (so please excuse our appearance!).  In the meantime, I’ll be posting here to kick things off!

I’m hoping that my Design Insider blog will help demystify the world of interior design and help you understand how your home can play an active role in your everyday life.  Each week, I’ll share some of my favorite spaces and places in New York City which will illustrate just how powerful and inspiring design can be.  I’ll even help you take the best trends and choose which work best with your lifestyle.

Home is our anchor, our sanctuary, our source of security through it all.  Don’t be fooled: where we live is far more than plaster, bricks, and a few coats of paint.  It’s a living, breathing part of our lives–an organic extension of our life’s choices–and the choices we make about where and how we live affect us in a profound way.
