In celebration of all things decorative, I  attended the “At Home” International Gift Fair in August at New York’s Pier 92. Attending this show is a great way to explore and discover new trends and styles from all over the world. It serves a spring board for ideas for my clients, as well as for fabulous lifestyle gift ideas. The many selections I find at these shows are hard to resist and frequently inspire in unexpected ways.

On this particular occasion, I brought my senior designer and my daughter along with me. We found many fun items and my daughter was inspired to redecorate her room (Oh no! I guess I was asking for that, wasn’t I?). We came away with great lighting and accessory sources and some great gift ideas. Events like this remind me why I love being an interior designer…I love the hunt and being able to get sneak peaks of upcoming trends and having access to interesting resources that I can then share with my clients.

I had so much fun at the home show that I just had to share it with you, even though it was a few weeks ago!

My daughter, who is 14 and has great taste, loves these crystal ball shaped Pendant lights!

We all loved these cool cut velvet pillows...so much that I bought them for my daughter's room!

These great looking Pendant lights are wonderful installed as a grouping over a dining table, a kitchen island or in the center of a room.

I love baskets of all shapes and sizes and these wire ones are especially interesting and can be used for eveything from storing magazines, firewood, and kid's toys!

These iron stacking tables make a bold statement and are perfect for a small space...or when you don't know what to put in an awkward spot next to a chair or sofa. And oh! The woven iron chair is cool too!

What a great source this was to find! Great mirrors and interesting, high-styled sconces all at affordable pricing...each one speaks for itself. I love accessories, you can change a room with just a few well chosen pieces like these!
